Am I missing something? Why do so many people think they (G & E) are lesbians?

This is a genuine question... In terms of the movie only... I've never seen the whole play. So part two is a mystery to me.

I see an intensely close relationship between two women, but this idea that it's sexual is lost on me when they are both going after the same prince.

My bestie and I frequently hold hands in public... Have PDA, and are very very very close. But that doesn't make us closet lesbians. 😅

So I'm just wondering if there's something coming up in the next segment that validates this idea?

Having a deeply intimate loving friendship is not the same as a loving sexual relationship.
